One person died and two others were injured after a rally car flipped into a crowd of spectators in Argentina.
On Sunday, April 19, officials from the FIA confirmed in a Facebook post that the accident occurred during the second round of the FIA Codasur Rally Championship at Rally Sudamericano Mina Clavero.
The car was driving on a sharp bend when it lost control and flipped multiple times in the province of Córdoba, according to news.com.au and local media outlet Crónica. The vehicle crashed into several attendees, resulting in the death of a 25-year-old man who was rushed to the hospital, per Crónica.
A woman also broke her leg, while another person suffered minor injuries, news.com.au and Crónica reported.
PEOPLE has reached out to the Federation of Volunteer Firefighters of the Province of Córdoba for comment.

The FIA expressed their deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
Two spectators were injured in addition to the one fatality, including a minor.

Footage shared on social media by Paraguayan outlet Radio Nanduti captured people screaming as the car deviated off course and flipped multiple times in the air before coming to a stop. A woman was also seen laying on the floor screaming at the end of the video.
According to the outlet, the woman injured in the incident was 40 years old and her daughter, described as a minor, was the other individual who suffered injuries.
“The FIA is deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred today during Round 2 of the FIA CODASUR Rally Championship at Rally Sudamericano Mina Clavero, in which one spectator lost their life and two others were injured,” the FIA wrote in a statement on Facebook.

The FIA went on to pass their “deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased, and our thoughts remain with all those injured and affected.”
“We thank the emergency services and medical teams for their rapid response,” they continued. “The FIA will provide its full support to the organizers of Rally Sudamericano Mina Clavero, Automóvil Club Argentino (ACA), CODASUR, and the relevant local authorities in their investigation into the incident.”
In an earlier statement by the FIA Rally Sudamericano, it was confirmed that the event had been suspended.
