With Jim Leonhard being named defensive coordinator under head coach Joe Brady, he will run a different scheme than the one former head coach Sean McDermott ran in recent years.
At the top, there the Bills will run plenty of 3-4 base defense. That means the team could stand to add to their nose tackle position, which is likely why Texas Tech Lee Hunter was town.
Hunter shared to his social media channels that he was taking a pre-draft visit in Buffalo:
Hunter is labeled as a Round 2 or 3 selection at this year's draft by NFL.com.
Interestingly, Buffalo only holds the No. 91 overall pick in that area. Could the Bills wait for him or could a trade be on the mind of general manager Brandon Beane?
Hunter did have a presence in the opponents' backfield despite playing a position known more for taking up space and blockers. In 14 games played in 2025, Hunter had 41 tackles, including 10.5 for loss, with 2.5 sacks and a forced a fumble.
