After two days, Alabama had three players selected in the top 50: Kadyn Proctor, Ty Simpson, and Germie Bernard. after that, though, things cooled down, and the Tide had nobody selected in the rest of the third round.
Today, the draft goes through the final frenzy of round 4-7 all in a row. The draft coverage shows get more and more behind and discombobulated, to the point that they’re often still talking about picks that are 5+ picks behind what’s live, then skipping over a few. Today, you might as well just put the broadcast on in the background and go about your day, just checking in on occasion.
Still, things start early, at 11:00 a.m. Central Time, and the pick timer is shortened to make things really speed along.
For Alabama, the Tide still has a good handful of players hoping to hear their names called. LT Overton is most likely to be first due to his pedigree and upside, but a poor production as a senior may have hurt him. Past that, Tim Keenan, Deontae Lawson, Parker Brailsford, and Justin Jefferson will all probably get their name called at some point, but who knows when it’ll be. Domani Jackson and Josh Cuevas have a good shot at getting drafted late as well. And then there’s Jaeden Roberts, Jam Miller, DaShawn Jones, and Geno Vandemark who are most likely going to be UDFAs, but you never know if someone will jump on them early.
The more the merrier, and we wish all of these guys the best of luck. Roll Tide!
