The Baltimore Ravens selected SMU tight end Matthew Hibner with the No. 133 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, trading up to secure him. Hibner was a two-year starter at SMU, recording eight touchdowns and 436 receiving yards in his final season.
After waiting three rounds, the Baltimore Ravens were aggressive in addressing the tight end position, trading up to select SMU tight end Matthew Hibner with the No. 133 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Baltimore sent its fifth-round pick (No. 154) along with a 2027 sixth-rounder to secure Hibner, signaling a clear priority to add depth and versatility to the position group.
Hibner brings a productive background to the Ravens after serving as a two-year starter at SMU from 2024-25, where he totaled eight touchdown receptions â the second-most among ACC tight ends during that span. His ability to find the end zone and contribute in multiple roles makes him an intriguing addition to an offense that values tight ends like Mark Andrews, who have diverse skill sets.
Hibner appeared in all 13 games and started in 12. He achieved a career-high with 31 receptions and posted a career-best 436 receiving yards, which ranks as the fifth most by a tight end in the ACC. He recorded four receiving touchdowns and had four games with at least four receptions. Notably, he had a season-high of five catches on two occasions. Hibner finished the season with his highest receiving yards in a game, totaling 87 yards and a touchdown at Cal on November 29.
