Why Wolves' relegation had been coming after slow decline
Wolves' relegation from the Premier League is confirmed after a tough season.
Tacario Davis, a cornerback from Washington, is projected as a 3rd or 4th round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. He transferred from Arizona and has notable stats including 75 tackles and 20 pass deflections over three seasons.
**Height**: 6’3 7/8” **Weight**: 194 pounds **Arm Length**: 33 3/8” **Hands**: 9 1/4th” **40 Yard Dash**: 4.41 **Vertical Jump**: 37” **Broad Jump**: 10’3”
Davis, out of Long Beach, California, ranked as the 104th best corner nationally and as the 97th best player in the state of California in the class of 2022, according to 247. Initially committing to Jedd Fisch at Arizona, he chose the Wildcats over Arizona State and Kansas. He transferred this past offseason to Washington, committing on January 7th, 2025.
In his 3 season at Arizona, Davis combined for 75 total tackles, 20 pass deflections and an interception. He earned second team All PAC 12 honors in 2023 and second team All Big 12 honors in 2024. In 2025, Davis recorded 20 tackles, 4 pass deflections, and 2 picks (1 against UC Davis, 1 against Illinois). His numbers might’ve been even better, were it not for missing the final 2 games of the season due to injury.
Tacario’s height and wingspan allow him to get in between receivers and disrupt the catch. That wingspan also gives him a wide tackle net, so to speak. It also allows him to jam receivers off course on their releases. He also has the speed and instincts to jump short routes.
Tacario Davis stands 6'3 7/8" tall, weighs 194 pounds, and has a 40-yard dash time of 4.41 seconds, along with a vertical jump of 37 inches.
Davis transferred to Washington after initially committing to Arizona, seeking a new opportunity for his college career.
His strengths include height, wingspan, and speed for disrupting receivers, while weaknesses involve transitioning from his backpedal and defending complex routes.

Davis’s height also makes him play too tall at times, and as a result, he struggles to transition from his backpedal occasionally. This can lead to breakdown in his technique, leading to penalties and missed opportunities on the field. He also struggles defending routes with multiple breaks, despite his size and speed.
Davis is projected as a 3rd or 4th round pick by NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein. Zierlein also compared him to New York Jets corner, Nahshon Wright. Mock Draft Express largely agrees with that sentiment, placing him anywhere from round 3 to round 5 among 2026 mock drafts.
