Maybe they can recreate the same result with the latest addition to this list, offensive tackle Kage Casey.

His best season of college came in 2024 when he really started to garner the attention from the national media. In the season that lead to Boise Statesâ College Football Playoff debut, he would start every game for the second-consecutive season, log a team-high 947 offensive snaps, and didnât give up a single sack over the course of 440 pass blocks. In his career he played in 44 games, started 41 of them, and logged over 2700 snaps. His durability is rare.
If you talk to his teammates he is known as someone who can be described as a machine when it comes to his gameday preparation and how he approaches the weight room. He is a true blue-collar worker, which is something that is not uncommon of Boise State athletes.
Strengths
Weaknesses
While Casey likely does have the ability, especially with Zach Strief, to make the steps necessary to work out as an NFL tackle, there is a good chance that he ends up moving to offensive guard with Denver. His arm length has a lot of people saying that. And maybe we donât want to push back too much against them, especially with what happened to Will Campbell last year.
But this wouldnât be a bad thing for Casey. He is strong and quick and would fit right in to the scheme that Denver likes to run. He can get defensive linemen moving laterally on their zone schemes and has the quickness and strength to be a factor when pull-blocking in the gap scheme.
But one of the best aspects of Casey is his attitude towards the preparation side of the game. He is very cerebral and does a good job of slowing the game down pre-snap, analyzing the defense, and allowing himself to get ahead of the curve so he always has the upper hand on his blocks.
While I donât think he ends up as a starter this year, there is a good chance he takes the role as the extra lineman, and I wouldnât be surprised if he replaces a guy like Ben Powers when his contract is up in a year.
