Jaguars add QB Joey Aguilar after 2026 NFL draft
The Chargers continue to add to the offensive line with their later picks in the NFL Draft.
With the 202nd overall selection, Los Angeles selected Boston College guard Logan Taylor, who now joins Jake Slaughter and Travis Burke as the latest additions to the Chargers' offensive line.
With 25 games at left tackle, 11 at left guard, 8 at right guard, and 2 at right tackle, Taylor has experience at every position except center and should be expected to fill a versatile swing role for the Chargers as well. A second team All-ACC selection in 2025 who also served as a team captain for Boston College, Taylor was also mentioned as somebody who will be "one of the most mature guys in the locker room the moment he's drafted" by one NFL scout who talked to Dane Brugler of The Athletic.
At 6'6" and 314 pounds with 33 7/8" arms, Taylor has the size and traits to stay at tackle if the Chargers feel that's his best spot. With a sturdy anchor and strong punch, however, he has the profile to also be productive at guard if that's his final sticking point in the league.
A fourth-round grade from Brugler, Taylor does have some injury concern due to a torn labrum in 2021 and an undisclosed injury in 2024. His average reaction time and inconsistent body control on the move will be concerns going forward and are major reasons why he was available in the sixth round. But as a swing lineman with experience at multiple positions, Taylor seems to have the character feedback that suggests that he'll stick around in an NFL building for a long time.
Brugler had this to say about Taylor: "Taylor doesn’t play with consistent leverage or power, but he is intelligent, tough and competitive as a short-area base blocker. Similar to Brandon Linder, he projects best as a blocker in a phone booth at guard and a potential emergency flex outside at tackle."
