In a recent mock draft, the Denver Broncos are projected to select Miami cornerback Keionte Scott with the 62nd overall pick. Scott, a 24-year-old rookie, showcased impressive stats and speed, but his selection may raise questions due to the team's already crowded secondary.
In his recent three-round NFL mock draft for FanSided, Cody Williams has the Denver Broncos using the 62nd overall pick (their first pick in the draft) to select Miami cornerback Keionte Scott.
Scott (5-11, 193 pounds) spent two years at Snow College, followed by three seasons at Auburn before transferring to Miami for his sixth and final season in 2025. He's now entering the NFL draft as a 24-year-old rookie who will turn 25 during training camp this summer. Scott impressed at his pro day, running a 40-yard dash in 4.33 seconds.
Scott recorded 64 tackles (13 behind the line), five sacks, five pass breakups, two interceptions (both returned for touchdowns), two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries last fall. He's a play-making nickelback, but it would be surprising if the Broncos pick him in the second round after they just drafted Jahdae Barron in 2025 and brought back Ja'Quan McMillian during free agency last month.
Smith is a talented player, but Denver has a crowded secondary, so using their first selection on a slot cornerback would be a perplexing decision (unless they're planning to trade away a cornerback).
Following the Jaylen Waddle trade last month, Denver now holds seven picks in the 2026 NFL draft, which will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23-25.
