The PGA Tour is set to return to Quail Hollow Golf Club for the 2026 Truist Championship following Cameron Young's recent victory at the Cadillac Championship. This event marks the second of back-to-back signature tournaments on the tour schedule.

The PGA Tour is preparing for a return to Quail Hollow Golf Club, a venue which is a regular stop on the tour schedule, and this time it is for the second of back-to-back signature events on the tour schedule.
Following the Cadillac Championship last week at Doral, a wire-to-wire victory for Cameron Young, the tour returns to the site of the 2025 PGA Championship for the Truist Championship.
With this event being a signature event, some of the biggest names in golf will be taking on Quail Hollow Golf Club, the Par 71 which measures 7,583 yards in length. Unlike last week’s venue which hadn’t been used by the tour since 2016, it is important to note the past winners of this tournament.
Keeping in mind players who have done well at Quail Hollow, let’s take a look at the top five players, based on odds.
When it comes to picks for this signature event, I like to start with my favorite and long shot picks for the tournament. The favorite pick is the pick I like the most for an outright winner. For the long shot winner, that is a golfer who has over +2000 odds to win. It is a long shot pick for a reason, and finding those can be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Two weeks ago we nailed the winner, the Fitzpatrick brothers winning the Zurich Classic, but wasn’t able to make it two in a row last week at the Cadillac Championship.
The exact date for the 2026 Truist Championship has not been specified yet.

Nonetheless, here are my favorite and long shot picks for the Truist Championship:
Favorite: Rory McIlroy (+580)
Long Shot: Tommy Fleetwood (+2400)
Anyone who does any research on McIlroy and Quail Hollow knows all about Rory’s success at the venue. While he didn’t win the PGA Championship there last season, he has dominated on this course. With a field without the name Scheffler in the mix, I love Rory to come off his Masters success and win at one of his favorite courses.
As for Fleetwood, it just feels like his game will start to round into form at some point. When will that happen? Hopefully this week. Fleetwood has the game to win these types of events, but he’s also a long shot pick for a reason.
The next step are the Top 5, Top 10, and Top 20 plays for the upcoming tournament. I provide two picks in each category, in hopes of maximizing our return.
Two things shocked me when I was checking the odds for this event. First, McIlroy getting plus-odds to finish in the Top 5 at this event seems like an easy pick. Second, the fact Fitzpatrick, who has won multiple times on tour this year, is getting +300 seems too easy as well.
I like these Top 5 plays, unless McIlroy and Fitzpatrick are both rusty from time off. Especially for Rory, who hasn’t played since winning the Masters.
Some have been really off with Aberg since he had his collapse at the Players Championship, but his game has rounded into form since his Sunday collapse at TPC Sawgrass. Aberg is a player who doesn’t seem bothered by those bumps in the road, and I expect him to play well after skipping last week’s signature event.
Burns is a pick I’m taking based on the fact he has had a strong 2026 season while flying under the proverbial radar. I think Burns game sets up well at this venue, and I don’t think a Top 10 event is out of the picture at those odds.
Ben Griffin was a Top 20 play last week, and he had a Top 5 finish at last week’s signature event. His game has been trending in the right direction since the Zurich Classic two weeks ago. I expect Griffin to continue to be trending in the right direction, and I think a Top 20 play is still a good spot for Griffin.
I tend to have a “gut” pick of the week in my Top 20 picks, and this week it’s Justin Thomas. Thomas plays well at Quail Hollow, and is coming off a break. With his delayed start to the 2026 season after offseason surgery, this is when you hope to see Thomas starting to regain his form.
For bonus plays, these are picks which I don’t necessarily hang my hat on, but still provide value for some who want more exotic plays outside of the aforementioned picks. Sometimes bonus plays are parlays, double chances, triple chances, and even some fun plays for that particular event.
Here are the Bonus plays for the 2026 Truist Championship:
Double Chance: Rory McIlroy or Xander Schauffele (+345)
Triple Chance: Rory McIlroy or Xander Schauffele or Ludvig Aberg (+260)
Top 20 Parlay: Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, Ludvig Aberg (+240)
Margin of Victory: 2 shots (+355)
