The 2026 WNBA Draft took place on Monday, April 13, at The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City. It was a historic night in the Big Apple, with former UConn women’s basketball star Azzi Fudd being selected No. 1 overall by the Dallas Wings.
Fudd is now reunited with former Huskies running mate Paige Bueckers, becoming the first former college teammates to be selected by the same team No. 1 overall in back-to-back years.
After Fudd was selected by Dallas, former TCU star and triple-double machine Olivia Miles went No. 2 to the Minnesota Lynx, while Spain’s Awa Fam Thiam went No. 3 to the Seattle Storm.
