2027 four-star OL DeMarrion Johnson remains committed to Texas A&M despite a recent visit to Texas. He stated his recruitment is '100% closed' and is focused on his upcoming official visit with the Aggies in June.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Texas A&M 2027 four-star OL commit DeMarrion Johnson visited the Texas Longhorns in Austin amid the Aggies' momentum regarding five-star offensive linemen Kennedy Brown and Mark Matthews. However, Johnson will reportedly not take an official visit with the Longhorns at this time, as his only OV is set with the Aggies in less than two months.
For third-year head coach Mike Elko and O-line coach Adam Cushing, one of the toughest parts of the offseason, especially just days after the annual Maroon & White Game, is keeping tabs on all 12 commitments in the 2027 cycle, while making progress with every remaining priority prospect.
After verbally shutting down his recruitment back on March 29, Johnson's April 18 Texas visit came as surprise to many, and after being just two of the Aggies' 2027 commits not to attend the Maroon & White Game, paired with four-star athlete Hakeem Frampton, further speculation was fueled, but thanks to his recent interview with AggieYell recruiting insider Joseph Hastings, Johnson stated that he remains "locked in" with the Aggies.
“My recruitment is still 100% closed,” Johnson stated. “There were still a couple of questions I had… I never really checked in with the players and talked with the players about how they feel about UT. I didn’t do research in terms of that. I’m glad they had a chance to connect me with them. Also my little brother, it’s always been a dream of his; growing up, he’s been loving UT. A UT fan like crazy. I had to get him out there too.”
Ahead of his official visit with the Aggies, set for June 12-14, Johnson is looking to get back on campus next month, while his relationship with Elko and Cushing remains stronger than ever. Even more so, Johnson is excited to potentially play with Kennedy Brown, Mark Mitchell, and fellow five-star OL Oluwasemilore Olubobola, who are all set to visit this summer.
