Texas A&M offensive line coach Adam Cushing is widely considered one of the top recruiters in the country, and after seeing four starting O-linemen from the 2025 roster hear their name called in the 2026 NFL Draft, Cushing's background as a developer is even more well-known, and is resulting in elite blue-chip prospects flocking to College Station.
In the 2027 recruiting class, third-year head coach Mike Elko and Cushing have already landed commitments from four-star tackles DeMarion Johnson and Kaeden Scott, while five-star IOL Kennedy Brown chose the Aggies over nearly every blue-blood program in the country late last month.
Still in the running with Miami and others for five-star tackle Mark Matthews, who will reportedly take all his official visits this summer before making a final decision, the Aggies remain a finalist to land fellow five-star tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola, who announced his commitment date and will choose between Miami, Texas A&M, and Notre Dame.
Early in his recruitment, Olubobola was favored to land at Texas A&M, but that was before the Aggies received a prediction from On3's Steve Wiltfong that they would secure Mark Matthews' commitment. Now, Notre Dame is reportedly the leader for the New Jersey native, which, given the program's vast history of developing future first-round offensive linemen, isn't surprising.
According to On3's Joe Tipton, Olubobola will reportedly announce his commitment on Tuesday, May 12, and will be available to watch on Rivals' YouTube channel.
