3 predictions for Colts' 2026 NFL schedule release

Before the Indianapolis Colts' full 2026 NFL schedule is announced, let's make a few predictions about what we think will take place.

As of now, one game has been confirmed -- the Colts will travel to London in Week 4 to face the Washington Commanders.

On paper, the Colts are projected to have one of the easier schedules in the NFL, although how the schedule falls can impact that.

Now, let's make some predictions before more games are leaked.

Prediction: Colts have an early Week 5 bye

Teams that play internationally have the option to either take the bye week right after that game, or they can choose to play the following week, with the bye coming later on. My guess is that the Colts choose to take the early bye and get some rest after their Week 4 matchup in London with the Commanders.

Prediction: Colts are on the road in Week 1

The Colts have been the home team in Week 1 in each of the last three seasons. If anything, they are due for a road game to open up the regular season. As I outlined recently, I will guess that the Texans are the Week 1 opponent.

Prediction: Colts play two primetime games

Last year, the Colts had only one primetime game. This year, my guess is they get a second. After seeing how the team fared through the first 10 games with , the NFL could throw another evening time slot the Colts' way. I'll guess that those games come against the at home and then against the on the road.
