The Los Angeles Rams selected quarterback Ty Simpson in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft but still have roster needs. Three Day 2 prospects, including Denzel Boston, could help address these needs immediately.
The Los Angeles Rams chose to prepare for the future, selecting quarterback Ty Simpson in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. However, they still have pressing needs on their roster. Here are three Day 2 prospects who could answer those needs if selected.
A key contributor in former Rams assistant Jedd Fisch's offense, Boston is everything and then some. Boston has 1,000-yard receiver written all over him and could clearly play second fiddle to Puka Nacua, while being able to replace the red zone production of Davante Adams thanks to his height and strong hands.
He already understands the scheme, and his biggest question is whether he can separate from defenders. In a McVay offense, that's not even a question.
Hood is a first-round talent who plays a position that several teams did not need to invest first-round capital in. Hood is wickedly fast. It's actually a bit disturbing how fast he flies to the ball. A handsy corner, which typically isn't a good trait, Hood does well to avoid penalties, as long as he cleans up his operation once he gets NFL coaching.
To be honest, he's playing the wrong position. Hood is a safety who can double at outside corner. He is perfect to pair with Trent McDuffie and other versatile defensive backs, mixing and matching coverages to induce bad throws and turnovers. Hood's speed is such an equaling factor that the Rams wouldn't need to worry about getting beat by some of the speedsters in the division.
The top Day 2 prospects for the Rams include Denzel Boston, a wide receiver from Washington, who could significantly contribute to the team's offense.

Rodriguez is a coverage linebacker who has a level of flexibility and athleticism that no other linebacker on the Rams has. He solves an immediate need while providing Chris Shula with another unique piece for his coveted dime defense. Rodriguez should develop into an every-down linebacker, but in the meantime, he could still contribute as a dime backer.
