3 ways the Arizona Cardinals can cause first-round chaos

The first round of the 2026 NFL draft begins tonight. Things kick off in Pittsburgh at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. Arizona time), and you can watch the draft on ESPN or NFL Network.

The Arizona Cardinals are at the center of a lot of draft buzz. There is always chaos in the draft. There are surprise moves, trades and selections.

SI.com's Justin Melo wrote about the different ways the first round could break. The Cardinals could do it in one of three ways.

1. Actually drafting RB Jeremiyah Love third overall
2. Trading the third overall pick to the Kansas City Chiefs
3. Trading back up from the second round into the first round to get QB Ty Simpson

Taking Love third overall has everyone talking about roster building, player quality and value. He would immediately bring some juice to the Cardinals — some intrigue for an otherwise bland, boring and bad team.

Involving the always competitive Chiefs in a trade would raise interest, as they are trying to return to the playoffs.

And any trade to get a quarterback is always something to talk about. Is the quarterback worth the pick? Will he pan out?

We will know about 5:30 Arizona time what sort of chaos, if any, the Cardinals cause.
