The Georgia Bulldogs are finishing up another spring. Georgia's spring concludes with the annual G-Day spring scrimmage on Saturday, April 18 at 1 p.m. ET. Georgia's spring game will be televised on SEC Network+ and ESPN+. Tickets for the spring game are available for $10.
Georgia's spring game is expected to heavily feature the passing game. In the past, Georgia has primarily thrown the ball in spring games to avoid injuries on running plays. That means that Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton will get a lot of reps. Stockton is trying to build chemistry with a receiving core that is very different from the 2025 season.
"We're working on building depth, trying to get guys ready," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said. This spring is no different from previous springs for Georgia despite their being no spring transfer portal window to worry about. Smart and Georgia are focused on getting better one day at a time.
The 2026 spring game will be the latest opportunity for new Bulldogs to prove themselves. Georgia's No. 8 ranked signing class (with 31 signees) will be looking to prove themselves as true freshmen. The Bulldogs are also bringing nine transfers up to speed on the Georgia way.
Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Talyn Taylor runs after a catch
Georgia needs a wide receiver to step up after losing wide receivers Zachariah Branch, Colbie Young, Noah Thomas and Dillon Bell. Georgia also lost key pass game contributors tight end Oscar Delp and running back Cash Jones. The most obvious returning player to step up is sophomore receiver Talyn Taylor, who did not have the most productive freshman season (he missed some time with an injury), but flashed the ability to get open.
The Georgia Bulldogs spring game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on April 18, 2026.
The spring game will be televised on SEC Network+ and ESPN+.
Gunner Stockton is expected to be the quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs during the 2026 spring game.

"Talyn (Taylor) had a good scrimmage, on Saturday he caught punts, did a lot of good things," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said earlier this spring. "So, I'm excited about all the wide outs."
Taylor now wears No. 1 and will look to show good chemistry with quarterback Gunner Stockton during Georgia's scrimmage.
Georgia's secondary underwent a lot of change this offseason. The Bulldogs lost cornerback Daylen Everette to the 2026 NFL draft. The Bulldogs expect Demello Jones and Ellis Robinson to take over at outside cornerback. The biggest question is who will start at safety opposite of KJ Bolden. True freshman Tyriq Green (No. 23) is throwing his hat into the mix.
Former Buford standout Tyriq Green is already flashing a lot of potential this spring. Green played against an elite level of high school competition and is more used to the speed of the game than the average freshman. Kirby Smart notes that he likes Green's combination of size and speed. Green still has to grow, but he appeared to have a pick-six in Georgia's first scrimmage.
"He's still got a ways to go for us in terms of learning what to do, learning to understand assignments, pace of practice, and stamina," Smart said. "But we've had successful safeties come in in the spring and not have great springs. They were like KJ (Bolden), Malaki (Starks), Dan (Jackson), a lot of those guys went through springs, their first springs here, and they struggled some. So, he's been part of those struggles, too."

There's no one more obvious to watch than Stockton. Georgia's success will rely on Stockton a lot in 2026. He lost key receivers from last season and needs to take a step forward as a passer. Stockton should see a bunch of action in G-Day, which tends to be very pass heavy.
Stockton did a good job avoiding turnovers last season, but needs to be more surgical down the field. Can he show improved ability to layer the football? Georgia fans will watch Stockton and the rest of the quarterbacks with a close eye on Saturday.
"I think Gunner (Stockton) would be the first to tell you he wants to be more efficient," Smart said. "He wants to be more explosive."
Smart emphasized the importance of Georgia's offensive line and the playmakers around Stockton in helping the Georgia offense be more explosive.
Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Elijah Griffin (90) looks on during warmups prior to the 2026 Sugar Bowl
Georgia's got to generate a better pass rush in 2026. The Bulldogs finished last in the SEC in sacks during the 2025 season and simply did not disrupt opposing quarterbacks enough. Georgia lost defensive tackle Christen Miller to the 2026 NFL draft, but returns much of the defensive interior.
Former five-star recruit Elijah Griffin contributed as a true freshman and is looking to take another step forward as a sophomore. Having a disruptive interior defender in Jalen Carter was a huge part in Georgia's back-to-back national championship wins. If Griffin can be more disruptive as a sophomore and draw more double teams, then that will open things up for other pass rushers. The Bulldogs got bad news with the knee injury that transfer edge rusher Amaris Williams suffered.
