Four-star cornerback Darius Johnson has named Oregon among his top four schools for recruitment, alongside Michigan, UCLA, and Cal. He plans to visit Oregon on June 12 as part of his summer tour of finalists.
The Oregon Ducks are gearing up for another big recruiting battle in California this cycle. Four-star corner Darius Johnson named the Ducks one of his four finalists on Friday.
The Riverside native from Notre Dame High School also listed Michigan, UCLA and Cal as his other finalists. Johnson has already made plans for summer visits to most of his finalists. He will be at Cal on May 28 before making the trip up to Eugene on June 12. He will also visit Michigan on June 19. UCLA has not scheduled a visit yet with Johnson.
The 6-foot-1 corner is the No. 20-ranked cornerback in the nation, per Rivals. The Ducks have had great success recruiting in California in years past, but the competition has come around recently. USC has stolen from the Ducks multiple times in this cycle, and Cal is proving to be a consistent nuisance as well, with Tosh Lupoi leading the charge.
According to Rivals' Adam Gorney, Michigan and Cal are the two programs that stand out the most to Johnson, with the Ducks appearing to be third in the race. That could change with a positive visit in June, but the Ducks do have some work to do.
The Ducks currently have the No. 9 class in the country, per Rivals. Oregon has two corners committed to the 2027 class with four-stars Ai'King Hall and Josiah Molden, and the Ducks have been rumored to be a likely flip candidate for four-star Donte Wright, who is currently committed to Georgia.
Oregon has recruited well in the secondary, both from high school and in the transfer portal. Keep an eye on the Ducks to make a big push to bring the California talent up north.
