Four-star offensive tackle recruit Nate Carson will be announcing his college commitment on July 3. The elite offensive lineman recently named the Georgia Bulldogs, South Carolina Gamecocks, Clemson Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers and Texas A&M Aggies as his top schools.
Carson announced his commitment date shortly after Georgia offensive line coach Phil Rauscher visited him in late April. This has to be a good sign for the Bulldogs' hopes of landing the talented offensive lineman.
Carson plays high school football for Irmo High School in Columbia, South Carolina. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive lineman is ranked as the No. 170 prospect in the America, the No. 21 offensive tackle and the fourth-best recruit in South Carolina. Carson is the No. 1 offensive line recruit in South Carolina. He is teammates with LSU commit Jaiden Bryant.
At Irmo, Carson has built up some good experience. As a junior, he went up against South Carolina signee and four-star recruit Julian Walker. Carson, an Under Armour All-American, displays good mobility and athleticism. The Irmo star is capable of making blocks at the second level of the defense. Carson primarily played left tackled during his junior season.
Carson has plans to take official visits to most of his top contenders this summer before announcing his commitment.
