- Significant changes to 49ers' cornerback lineup this offseason
- 49ers have ample cap space for potential upgrades

- 49ers aim to strengthen their defense
The San Francisco 49ers have made several changes to their cornerback room this offseason, releasing Tre Tomlinson, watching Chase Lucas sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and adding Nate Hobbs, Jack Jones and Ephesians Prysock.
While this room will look much different in 2026 than it did in 2025, the 49ers have a ton of cap space left, and they may be looking to upgrade Raheem Morris' defense even more before the start of the year.
Interestingly, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox recently identified San Francisco as a potential landing spot for Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore in a trade.
"Richardson isn't the only player the Colts are open to moving. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported in early April that Indianapolis and cornerback Kenny Moore II have also agreed to seek a trade.
"Moore is entering a contract year, and the Colts could save $7.1 million by trading him. While draft weekend felt like an opportune time for Moore to find a new team, neither he nor Richardson was dealt."
Moore, 30, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Valdosta State in 2017. He signed with the New England Patriots originally, but he was cut before his rookie season and was immediately claimed by Indianapolis.
Over the last nine seasons, Moore has appeared in 132 games and started 111 while recording 649 tackles, 68 passes defensed, 21 interceptions, 20 quarterback hits, 11.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Knox predicts that Moore would only cost a sixth-round pick, which San Francisco may be willing to pay for a cornerback who could play a large role for them and help them accomplish their goals.
