The San Francisco 49ers made one of the most interesting trades of the offseason, acquiring defensive lineman Osa Odighizuwa from the Dallas Cowboys for a 2026 third-round pick.
While they've been trying to make other trades, at least one isn't expected to happen this week, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Monday that a trade market for quarterback Mac Jones hasn't been there.
Jones landed in San Francisco last offseason after three years with the New England Patriots (2021-23) and one with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2024). After New England took him in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft out of Alabama, he had early success, but he really struggled beyond that and was eventually traded to Jacksonville for a sixth-round pick.
The 49ers signed Jones to a two-year, $7 million contract to be Brock Purdy's backup, but with the starter suffering an injury in Week 1, the former Crimson Tide quarterback was thrust into action.
Jones appeared in 11 games and started eight for San Francisco in 2025. He led the team to a 5-3 record while completing a career-high 69.6% of his passes for 2,151 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions.
