On March 22, sophomore guard Kameron Mercer won an Ohio Division I state basketball title with his Princeton Vikings team in Dayton.
A little over a month later, the five-star prospect has been offered by new University of Cincinnati Bearcats coach Jerrod Calhoun. Mercer posted the news on his social media accounts May 5.
Technically, Mercer was first offered by the Bearcats in Oct. 2024 when he was a freshman at Huntington Expressions Prep in West Virginia. That offer came from the Wes Miller staff. Jerrod Calhoun's staff got him in for a visit and made the recent offer.
UC now joins the likes of Florida State, Georgia State, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina State, Ohio State, UCF, Villanova and Xavier in pursuing the 6-foot-5, 200-pound shooting guard.

After averaging 11 points, six rebounds and five assists playing older competition at Huntington, Mercer was originally headed to Overtime Elite in Atlanta but elected to come back to Cincinnati to play for Bryan Wyant at Princeton High School.
The result was a 25-3 record with the sophomore scoring 14.2 points per game along with 5.4 rebounds per contest. He was third in the Greater Miami Conference in assists with 3.4 per game and second in steals at 2.4. The Vikings won their first boys' state basketball title.
Kameron Mercer has received offers from multiple schools, including Florida State, Maryland, and Ohio State, among others.

On March 11, he had a 20-point, 10-rebound effort vs. Wayne and his season-high in scoring was 27 points against Colerain in January. He had two double-doubles during the season and came to close to a triple-double in a game vs. Lima Senior when he hauled down a season-best 14 rebounds to go along with seven points and seven assists.

In addition to his parents, Kameron's older brother Jaylen Mercer was on the visit and posed with him wearing a C-paw letterman's jacket.
Jaylen Mercer is a 6-5, 260-pound edge rusher now at Princeton who graduates in 2027 and is being hotly pursued by many programs, including several from the Big 12. The Bearcats have offered him as well, but he still has upcoming visits scheduled with Louisville and Kentucky.
Jaylen Mercer had 26 tackles, 1.5 sacks. 2.5 tackles for loss and a pair of fumble recoveries as a junior for 9-3 Winton Woods last season.
