The New York Mets are 9-19, tied for the worst record in Major League Baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies. Carlos Mendoza is firmly on the hot seat and might be out of a job in the very near future.
There is a lot that has gone wrong with this team this season. The pitching staff in both the rotation and bullpen has been disappointing, and the outfield isn't as good as the Mets would've hoped. But, by far, the infield is the worst group on the roster.
As ESPN's David Schoenfield pointed out, 75% or 3-of-4 infielders for the Mets this season were named as the biggest disappointments in MLB at their positions this season. Those three are obviously Bo Bichette, Marcus Semien, and Francisco Lindor.
At shortstop, Schoenfield named Lindor among the biggest disappointments: "Francisco Lindor and Mookie Betts were both struggling and now are on the injured list," Schoenfield writes.
While Lindor's struggles this season are well-documented, with a lot of other top shortstops also struggling, he doesn't have sole possession of the biggest disappointment at his position. The same cannot be said for Bichette and Semien.

"For $42 million, the Mets expected a lot more than an occasional single," Schoenfield writes. "... It looks like there's some bad luck cooked into his low average, but this could end up turning into one of the major blunders of the offseason."

Bichette is hitting .233 on the season, and for someone known for their average, that's a very poor number. He's making $42 million this season, and that's looking like a mistake.
"Semien was worth 3.3 WAR last season, and the Mets were hoping for something close to that when they acquired him for Brandon Nimmo this past offseason, but Semien's power erosion continues," Schoenfield writes.
Semien has accumulated -0.2 WAR on the year, and has a .575 OPS with a brutal .300 slugging percentage and .220 average.
With Semien being the biggest disappointment at second base, Bichette the biggest disappointment at third base, and Lindor among the biggest disappointments at shortstop, 75% of the Mets' infield can lay claim to being the biggest disappointment in MLB.
