Podziemski could have played a Jared McCann-like role with Nick Nurse and the 76ers. Before being traded to the Thunder mid-season, McCain earned a reputation as an immediate-impact second-unit contributor with a smooth long-range shooting threat and a confident demeanor in Philadelphia.
Podziemski has been just that for the Warriors, averaging 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 45.5% from the field and 37.1% from three-point land in 82 regular-season contests.
The Santa Clara product does have his imitations, though, as he isn’t the best off-the-dribble playmaker or finisher around the rim. Still, it makes sense why Philadelphia pursued him earlier in the year.
