A woman seated courtside at the Philadelphia 76ers-Orlando Magic game last night got a painful reminder to keep her eyes on the ball.
During the second quarter of the Play-In game between the Eastern Conference rivals on Wednesday, April 15, the Magicâs Paolo Banchero tried to pass to a teammate in the corner â but the ball flew right to the first row instead, hitting the woman on her head.
In footage from the incident, the fan is seen looking down at her phone as the ball approaches. After the ball hit her, she immediately grabbed her head and looked to be in pain.
76ers star Tyrese Maxey went over to check on the woman, who âtried her best to put on a brave face but was clearly some combination of embarrassed and hurt,â as The Athleticâs Mike Prada wrote.
The home team went on to beat the Magic, 109-97, and will go on to face the in the first round of the playoffs.
