The Boston Celtics have had two opportunities to close out the series against the Philadelphia 76ers, but are now headed to Game 7.
With a 3-1 lead, the Celtics had the 76ers playing with their backs against the wall. The 76ers have rallied to win back-to-back games, and now head to Boston with a chance to eliminate the No. 2 seed. Joel Embiid's return has certainly helped, but the stars of Game 6 were Tyrese Maxey and a resurgent Paul George.
Maxey led all players in the game in scoring, and Georghe was right behind him in second place. It was George's highest scoring game in the series, and his highest scoring game since April 2, when he scored 23 as well. The nine-time All-Star spoke on the win afterward, and kept things simple.

We're still alive
George knows that there is still work to be done. He was a key part of the 76ers' Game 6 win, but understands that if the 76ers do not get the job done on Saturday night, it will not matter. George has not played past the first round of the playoffs since 2021, and the Celtics stand in his way of changing that. He praised his teammates for not quitting in the face of a 3-1 deficit.
“Just applaud the guys for not quitting," George said, per ESPN. “In this moment, we just stayed together. We stayed confident. We stayed poised. We've given ourselves a chance here, being down 3-1, with an unbelievable opportunity to go play a Game 7 in Boston.”
