‘A dream come true’ – David Raya on reaching Champions League final with Arsenal

David Raya says reaching the Champions League final with Arsenal is a “dream come true”.

The Arsenal goalkeeper kept another clean sheet to help his side into the final to face either PSG or Bayern Munich after Bukayo Saka’s goal gave Arsenal a 2-1 aggregate win over Atletico Madrid in the semi-final.

“It’s a dream come true,” Raya told CBS Sports. “Not just me, the whole team, what we’ve done this season, not losing a game (in the Champions League) and not conceding many goals.

“It’s a remarkable achievement for everyone and for the club.”

Asked what the key to Arsenal’s success is, he responded: “I think through togetherness. I’ve always said that this club is more than a club, it’s a family and we have each other’s backs.

“When someone doesn’t have a good day, another one is making up for that, so I think that togetherness and that willingness to help each other has got us to where we are right now and I think you can see it on the pitch, everybody is fighting for everyone and it makes that difference.”

Raya also hailed the impact of the Arsenal fans for the atmosphere they created at the Emirates Stadium.
