That is no easy task, and it takes a special player to rise through City’s academy system and break into the first team. Manchester City signed Teddie Lamb from Leyton Orient in March of 2025. Lamb never made a senior appearance for Leyton Orient, but he was a highly sought after young player. City won the race to sign Lamb, and his performances this season show exactly why they were so eager to sign the young striker.

Teddie Lamb has scored 26 goals in 25 appearances for Manchester City’s under-18 side this season. Those numbers are exceptional. What immediately stands out in Lamb’s game is his goal-scoring instinct. The young striker sniffs out goals and he knows precisely where to be in an opponent’s penalty area. The clip below illustrates this point. Lamb is nearly always on hand for tap-ins, a trait that simply cannot be taught. He reads the game exceptionally well for a striker, and this sets him up to score goals at an exceptional rate. This trait alone can carry Lamb a long way as his career develops.
