Trade discussions surrounding A.J. Brown continue, with the Philadelphia Eagles maintaining he is not on the market. Recent insights suggest the Eagles are asking for a first- and second-round pick, while other teams believe the value should be lower, leading to potential negotiation challenges.
The Philadelphia Eagles have been consistent, almost rehearsed, even. Every time the question is asked, the answer is the same. A.J. Brown is a member of the Eagles. Both Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni have stayed on script, offering no hint of an imminent move.
And yet, the conversation refuses to disappear.
At this point, it feels less like breaking news and more like background noise. Still, when someone like Albert Breer revisits the topic, it's worth at least listening. Recently, he offered an updated look at what a potential trade package for Brown might resemble, and unsurprisingly, the New England Patriots surfaced again as a logical landing spot.
The interesting part isn't the destination. It’s the price. According to Breer, the Eagles have cited deals involving players like Davante Adams and Quinnen Williams as benchmarks, setting an asking price of roughly a first- and second-round pick. That's the high end. Other teams, however, see it differently. Comparisons to the Stefon Diggs trade suggest a much lower return, creating a gap that would need to be bridged creatively. Conditional picks, future selections, and performance-based escalators could all come into play. In other words, nothing about this would be straightforward.
That tracks with how Roseman operates. He doesn't make deals just to make them. If anything, his history suggests he’d rather walk away than settle for less than his valuation. Which brings us back to where this started.
Despite the speculation, the hypothetical trade packages, and the fatigue surrounding the topic, nothing has actually changed. The Eagles aren't signaling urgency. They aren't negotiating publicly. They're simply holding their ground, and until that changes, this remains what it has always been. This is still an ongoing conversation, not a conclusion.
