City must beat Chelsea today to take full advantage of Arsenal’s slip-up. One player who is unavailable for today’s match is centre-back Ruben Dias. Ruben Dias has missed Manchester City’s past two matches due to injury. He missed City’s Carabao Cup win over Arsenal due to a hamstring injury. The Portuguese international missed City’s 4-0 FA Cup quarter-final tie win after he suffered a muscle injury at training on the Friday before the match at the Etihad. Heading into this weekend’s clash with Chelsea, it wasn’t immediately clear if Ruben Dias would be available to play in today’s match.

Pep Guardiola provided clarity on Ruben Dias’ condition when he fronted the media on Friday. When asked if Ruben Dias would be available for today’s Premier League fixture against Chelsea, Guardiola said: “He’s getting better. He’s not ready for Sunday.”

Manchester City will miss Ruben Dias’ leadership but they have a solid defence without him.
