New England Patriots kick off second phase of offseason workouts on May 20, 2025.
Celtic celebrated its annual Player of the Year Awards in Glasgow, coinciding with a successful weekend for the club. The men's team secured a 2-1 victory over Hibernian, while the women's team advanced to the Scottish Cup final with a 3-2 win over Glasgow City.
A night of Celtic celebrations at club's Player of the Year event
It was a special Celtic night of celebration in Glasgow on Sunday night as the club held its annual Player of the Year Awards.
And it came at the end of a weekend when Martin OâNeillâs team went joint table of the Premiership table following a 2-1 win over Hibernian, while Grant Scottâs side booked their place in the Scottish Cup final with a 3-2 semi-final win over Glasgow City at Hampden.
There were various awards handed out to both the womenâs and menâs team, many of them voted for by supporters.
And there was also a Special Recognition Award for Celtic supporter, Jackie Dow who, at the age of 101, still attends games at Celtic Park. His award was accepted on the night by Martin OâNeill and Callum McGregor.
The event was held in the Doubletree By Hilton Glasgow Central and was hosted by Shebahn Aherne and Des Clarke.
The Academy Player of the Year is Hayden Borland, with the young defender recognised for a very impressive and consistent season with the B Team.
And Celticâs Young Player of the Year, voted for by supporters, is Hyunjun Yang. The 23-year-old South Korean internationalist has scored nine goals this season and has played his part in Celticâs push for silverware. And his stunning strike in the new year derby against Rangers was voted Menâs Goal of the Season.
Another player who has enjoyed a great season at Celtic has been Maria McAneny, whose World Record goal against Hibernian, scored after just 4.1seconds, was voted the Womenâs Goal of the Season.
The Top Goalscorer of the Season Award for both the menâs and womenâs teams, sponsored by adidas, was won respectively by Saoirse Noonan and Benjamin Nygren, with both players showing an impressive level of goalscoring throughout the campaign.
This award wasnât the only appearance on stage for Benjamin Nygren, who was also voted Playersâ Player of the Year by his team-mates.
And attacker Morgan Cross picked up the same award after her team-mates selected her as their Player of the Year.
Celtic's men's team won 2-1 against Hibernian, and the women's team triumphed 3-2 over Glasgow City.

The event culminated in the final two awards of the night â Player of the Year â with Celtic supporters voting for their favourite.
For the womenâs team, captain Kelly Clark was selected by fans as their Player of the Year, while Benjamin Nygren made it a personal treble on the night when he picked up the Player of the Year Award.
