Things are going so badly at Chelsea now that even fan favourites aren’t escaping criticism.
On the London is Blue podcast, they laid into Cole Palmer, who had another poor game against Man U this weekend.
“Cole Palmer, since coming back from injury, has been abject. He’s not offered much to this team, and he’s at risk of not making England’s World Cup squad. He’s offered just nothing. He’s got one goal in the last five match weeks. Maybe he could have had some more luck on his side. But this is not a superstar right now,” presenter Nick Verlaney said.
“He has got to figure out where this goes, because we had a big first season. We had a big first half of the second season. But since then, he’s been average.”
We’ve been as understanding as we can with Cole, but this is bang on. He’s not just been bad in this recent dreadful run, he’s struggled for a year or more now to consistently be at his best.
