Adna boys won the C2BL Championships with 110 points, narrowly defeating Toledo and Rainier. Rainier girls also secured a team title, highlighted by Jacob Hansen's new PR in the 300 hurdles.
May 16—Fueled by their depth and three event victories, the Pirate boys were able to pile up 110 team points and hold off Toledo (104) and Rainier (102) at Thursday's C2BL Championships in Rainier.
Steven O'Dell won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 4.36 seconds and joined Carter Duncan, Markus Miles and Grayson Humphrey on Adna's winning 1,600-meter relay. Kade Pearson unleashed a 150-foot throw to claim the javelin for the Pirates.
Toledo's Trevin Gale was a two-time league champ in the 200 and 400 plus was second in the 100 while Adam Kruger (triple jump), Casen Gale (high jump) and Conner Hill (1,600) also secured league titles.
Onalaska's Ethan Thayer once again swept the shot put and discus while Luke Barrick cleared 15-01 in the pole vault and Morgan Allen triumphed in the 110 hurdles. MWP's Mathew Parvin (100) and Logan Mays (long jump) were the lone victories for the Timberwolves.
Rainier's Jacob Hansen ran 44.05 seconds for a new PR to take first in the 300 hurdles while James Morrison and the 400 relay both placed first. Mossyrock's best finisher was Briar Baldwin, second in the open 200.
Napavine had three individuals and both relays all finished second while Winlock had two runners and a thrower that placed third.
Meanwhile on the girls side, Rainier put up 126 points to win the girls team race over Toutle Lake and Onalaska, which both finished with 101 points. The Mountaineers saw Jazzy Shumate and Komaire Robles win two individual events.
Shumate claimed the 300 hurdles and 400-meter dash and Robles swept the distance events (1,600 and 3,200). Alexis Myers ran 2:34.19 in the open 800, a new season-best, to win and Emma Mankowski cleared eight-feet flat for a new PR in the pole vault. Rainier also had six other events notch a top-five finisher.
Onalaska's Emalie Jacoby won three events, including PR's in the triple jump (35-05.50) and discus (127-02). MWP's Karah Fairhart won the shot put and Winlock's Victoria Sancho claimed both the open 100 and 200.
All three of Adna's relays won with Megan Price, Rhylee Beebe and Sophie Hagseth running in each of them. Behind the Pirates was Mossyrock, which took second in the three relays. Leah Contreras also was second in the 100.
Napavine's Saydee Gilligan (pole vault) and Toledo's Lilly Cooper (long jump) both recorded PR's and placed in the top-three.
Rochester's Pratt secures pair of jumping league titles
On her third triple jump attempt of the day, Kenna Pratt set a new personal best of 32 feet, 10 inches to give her the Evergreen League title plus she also won the long jump on Thursday night in Montesano.
Pratt was the lone area athlete to leave with two individual victories. Her best leap in the long jump was 15-03.75. Rochester also had McKenna Bocook triumph in the 300 hurdles in 58.51 seconds while Brooklyn Alfonso placed third in both the javelin and long jump.
Adna boys scored 110 points, followed by Toledo with 104 points and Rainier with 102 points.

Both of the Warriors relays nabbed second, distance runner Vera Hawes finished top-three in both the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs and thrower Seraschel Aldrich was third in discus.
Tenino was led by Kendall Bowe's runner-up toss of 101-02 in the javelin and a trio of third place performances by Kataleana Warner (400), Samantha Smith (800) and Taylor Henry (300 hurdles).
On the boys side, Tenino had four individual champs and all in the field events. Sophomore Hudson Thoren jumped 38-11.50 to win the triple jump and set a new PR in the process. Tucker Matheson won the high jump, Jeremiah McKague claimed the shot put and Parker Minerich took first in the discus.
McKague also placed top-three in the discus and javelin while Minerich was the runner-up in the shot put. Cooper Schall recorded two top-five finishes in the 110 and 300-meter hurdles. The Beavers placed third in the team race with over 104 points.
Rochester's 400 relay of Dominic Delgado, Xander Peterman, Le'Shawn Hines and Luka Meckle dashed their way to a win in 45.82 seconds, a new season-best for the quartet. Hines was third in all three of his jumping events while Delgado (100) and Bruce Phillips (discus) each placed second.
