âI feel that I need to stay here,â Rins said. âI still have a lot of potential in this championship.â
Rins went on to open up about the position that he has been left in following Yamahaâs premature moves in the rider market.
In his comments to Marca, the Spaniard said, âItâs been a blow because it leaves me in a really difficult position. I was very comfortable at LCR, and I opted for Yamaha, thinking Iâd have a better chance, but it hasnât quite turned out that way.
âItâs been a tough year; I struggled to adapt to the inline-four engine and we went for the V4 to get back to the front, but it hasnât worked out that way. Iâm calm; Iâm the same Alex who won with Suzuki and with Honda.â
The six-time Grand Prix winner added, âWe havenât had the best start; all four of us are at the bottom of the standings. Until they bring new parts, there wonât be any improvement.
âItâs not just about putting things in place, but putting the bike in the right place, where it belongs. Thereâs still a long way to go in the championship, and weâre going all out.â
