Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has had a legendary, trophy-filled career.
However, two of his worst moments might have come on Wednesday during his team’s 4-3 (6-4 on aggregate) victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League. Under a minute into the match, Neuer’s misplaced pass led to a goal for Arda Güler and a little later in the first half, the Real Madrid youngster would take advantage of some poor positioning by Neuer for another goal.
It was a sequence that Neuer would likely love to have back, but it was all part of the process for the Bavarians. Now, Neuer wants to turn his focus toward Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich’s semifinal round opponent.
“Our games in recent years have always been close, in the Champions League and the Club World Cup. These two games will not be any different. I’m looking forward to the game in Paris and then here with the support of our fans. They were amazing tonight and I hope they’ll repeat it against Paris,” Neuer said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
It will not get any easier for Bayern Munich, so if the Bavarians eventually win this tourney, they will have fully earned it.
