Club Brugge rejected €40m bids from Crystal Palace for winger Christos Tzolis. His impressive performance in Belgium raises questions about his market value.
After rejecting bids of €40m from Crystal Palace, how much is former Norwich winger Christos Tzolis worth?
If Club Brugge win the league this season, it will be in large part down to the brilliance of Christos Tzolis. The 24-year-old Greek winger has been in sensational form once again for the side he joined back in 2024. Clubs have been trying to pry him away from Belgium, but to no avail. As reported by HLN, Crystal Palace bid twice, with the second one being around €40m. Club Brugge still said no. So, how much is Tzolis really worth?
Norwich City fans will be ruing their luck with how Tzolis has gone on to develop since leaving the club. After joining the Canaries in 2022, Tzolis only played 13 games, scoring one goal. The side allowed him to join Fortuna Dusseldorf on loan the following season with a purchase option included of around €5m, a large amount for Fortuna. Yet, after 24 goals in 37 games, the side decided it was worth picking up the option. They had been debating whether to do it or not after missing out on promotion via the play-offs, but it was obvious during the summer that teams were interested in Tzolis.
Club Brugge were one, and for Tzolis, they could offer him the chance to compete for trophies and play in Europe. He took to Belgian football like a duck to water, scoring 21 goals and providing 14 assists in 56 games. Many players who come to Belgian football and produce such numbers are one and done, with a big move that summer. Yet, Club Brugge rejected offers from Crystal Palace and other clubs for Tzolis. The side are known for playing hard ball; there is a reason is still there.
Christos Tzolis's current market value is not explicitly stated, but it is suggested to be higher than the rejected €40m bids.
Club Brugge rejected offers for Tzolis due to his outstanding performance and potential impact on their success in the league.
Since joining Club Brugge, Tzolis has scored 21 goals and provided 14 assists in 56 games, showcasing his significant contribution to the team.

So far this season, Tzolis has been even better. He is already on 19 goals in 49 games with a few to go, so will more than likely score 20 for the third season in a row. He has also grabbed an incredible 24 assists in that time. If Club Brugge are willing to reject offers of €40m for Tzolis, then he is clearly going to demand a record fee for a player from the Belgian Pro League.
With a contract running until 2029, there is also no pressure on Club Brugge to sell Tzolis for anything less than a kings ransom. He has shown over the past three seasons that he has enough quality to play in the major European leagues. This season alone he scored three goals and grabbed five assists in 13 Champions League games.
Once again, Club Brugge are sitting on a goldmine. If they sell Tzolis this summer, they will have enough to sign two or three new players to bolster their squad. If the Greek winger decides to stay another year, they will be looking at competing for trophies once again next season. It is a win win situation for both club and player.
