Because of camera angles and goalie positioning, there wasn't actually an angle that showed the entirety of the puck across the goal line. The trailing portion of the puck was never fully visible.
That made it tough for people to come to grips with the fact that it did, 100%, cross the line.
There also wasn't a view that said it didn't, though, which is why the goal stood as called.
It generally gave off the movement shape of a puck that just crossed the line, but an artificial intelligence video circulating social media does seem to confirm that:

It certainly does add up with what it looked like on the screen, and it seems to reach a definitive conclusion.
