After Detroit took Michigan EDGE, Derrick Moore, at No. 44 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday night, Lions' franchise cornerstone defensive end Aidan Hutchinson gave an elated reaction on X to another Wolverine joining him in the Motor City.
Given the unrelenting pleas from fans and local media to add another ferocious weapon to aid Hutchinson on the Lions' outside defensive pressure, Detroit's selection of Moore immediately addresses that need and injects a bit of local flair with now two Wolverines coming off the edge on every snap.
"LFG!! Another Mich Man in the building.. love the pick," Hutchinson tweeted following the Lions trading up to select Moore.
In Moore's four seasons in Ann Arbor, the 6-foot-3, 280-pounder recorded 95 tackles (62 solo, 33 assisted), 24.5 tackles for loss, 21 sacks, eight passes defended, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one fumble recovery returned for a touchdown across 53 games played.
