Former Philadelphia Eagles champion cornerback C. J. Gardner-Johnson came to the defense of star wide receiver A.J. Brown amid ongoing trade speculation.
Gardner-Johnson, who has experience playing for the Eagles, didn't hold back when addressing the fan base. He took to X to criticize the tendency of the fans to support players during winning stretches but quickly turn on them when things go south.
"Philly turned on AJ so bad it’s sad! Yall love us when we help yall win but damn why yall bashing Bruda now ?!," Gardner-Johnson wrote.
This isn't the first time that the veteran safety has said something about Eagle fans.
After helping lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl in the 2022 season, Gardner-Johnson signed a deal with the Detroit Lions. ESPN's Tim McManus shared that Gardner-Johnson had some choice words for Philadelphia fans, saying fans were "f—ing obnoxious," adding, "I f—ing can't stand the f—ers."
The 28-year-old returned to Philadelphia for the 2024 season and apologized for his words.
