AJ Soldra, Eduardo Quintero have huge extra-base hit games

High-A Great Lakes

The Loons put up crooked numbers in five different innings to **out-slug the Beloit Sky Carp (Marlins)**. Great Lakes outfielder Eduardo Quintero was off to a rough start to his season, with one extra-base hit and five runs batted in his first 17 games of the season, with a .374 OPS. On Saturday he made up for lost time with three hits, including a home run and double, plus a walk, two stolen bases, four RBI, and four runs scored. Designated hitter Samuel Muñoz had two hits and drove in three runs. Shortstop Jose Izarra had two hits and a walk. Logan Wagner and catcher Jesus Galiz each drove in a pair. Galiz, first baseman Cam Decker, *and* left fielder Jose Meza each walked three times. That was a lot of folks on base for Great Lakes, who were 7-for-16 as a team with runners in scoring position. Reynaldo Yean walked four batters and allowed a single in the seventh inning, and did not record an out. All five batters scored.

Class-A Ontario

Soldra powered the offense, and the Tower Buzzers got six strong innings of relief to **beat the San Jose Giants**. Center fielder Jaron Elkins also continued to fill up the box score with two singles, a double, and his 10th stolen base of the season. After last year’s seventh-round draft pick Mason Estrada allowed three runs in his three-inning start, four Ontario relievers finished out the win. Wuillians Herrera pitched two scoreless innings, then the Tower Buzzers got single scoreless frames from Domingo Geronimo and Ricardo Montero. Robby Porco pitched the final two innings with three strikeouts. He allowed a run in the ninth inning, his first tally allowed in 15 innings to open the year, with 15 strikeouts against six walks.

Transactions

**Double-A**: Right-hander **Christian Ruebeck**, who was on the injured list to start the season with Great Lakes and did not pitch for the Loons, was promoted to Tulsa, and struck out a pair in a scoreless inning of relief.. Left-hander **Peter Bonilla** also joined the Drillers from Camelback Ranch. **High-A**: Right-hander **Accimias Morales** got promoted from Ontario to Great Lakes. Pitcher **Joseilyn Gonzalez** was placed on the 7-day injured list, after walking seven and recording seven outs in his two relief appearances this week, with six runs allowed, five of them earned.
