Florida center Alex Condon will return for his senior season and will not enter the 2026 NBA draft. He averaged 15.1 points and 7.5 rebounds last season and is a notable player in the program's history.
Florida center Alex Condon announced Wednesday on Instagram that he will return to the program for his senior season next year and forgo the 2026 NBA draft.
The news was first reported by ESPN.
Condon was a third-team All-SEC selection, averaging 15.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.4 blocks while shooting 55.6% from the field in 34 games. He was a finalist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award, given to the top center in the country.
The 6-foot-11 Australian reached 1,000 career points with the Gators this past season. He already ranks 10th in program history in blocked shots (142) and defensive rebounds (509) in 110 appearances across three years with the team.
Condon was considered a possible late first-round pick this year because of his scoring, rebounding and playmaking ability. He tested the predraft process last year and excelled in the shuttle run before ultimately opting to return to Gainesville.
The 21-year-old said at the combine last year that he would consider staying in the draft if he received a high first-round grade. But with a current late projection, Condon likely wanted to return to help the Gators make another title run, while also improving his all-around game.
With Condon back in the fold, coach Todd Golden returns a key player who helped the team advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Golden has also re-signed Boogie Fland, and is awaiting decisions from starters Rueben Chinyelu and Thomas Haugh.
