All seven members of the Denver Broncos' draft class will have new jersey numbers as they report for minicamp from May 8-10. Jersey number announcements are expected before or during the minicamp.
Jersey number news should be coming soon for the Denver Broncos.
Broncos rookies are set to report for a minicamp this week (May 8-10), and we should get word on jersey numbers before or during that minicamp. All seven of the team's draft class will need to select new numbers in the NFL.
Defensive lineman Tyler Onyedim wore No. 11 in college. That number is currently worn by Denver wide receiver Troy Franklin.
Running back Jonah Coleman wore No. 1 at Washington, but that number belongs to tight end Evan Engram. Coleman has hinted on social media that he will pick No. 5.
Offensive lineman Kage Casey previously wore No. 77, and that number is owned by All-Pro guard Quinn Meinerz.
Tight end Justin Joly wore No. 7 in college, but that number is retired by the Broncos in honor of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway. It's probably not coming out of retirement for a fifth-round tight end.
The new jersey numbers for the Broncos' draft class have not yet been announced and are expected to be revealed during minicamp.
The Broncos' rookies need to select new jersey numbers because the numbers they wore in college are already assigned to current players on the team.
The Denver Broncos' minicamp is scheduled for May 8-10.

Safety Miles Scott wore No. 10 in college, but that number is obviously worn by quarterback Bo Nix in Denver.
Tight end Dallen Bentley wore No. 88 at Utah, but Denver does not give out that number following the death of late wide receiver Demaryius Thomas. And finally, linebacker Red Murdock wore No. 2 in college, which is currently worn by All-Pro cornerback Pat Surtain with the Broncos. So Murdock needs to select a new number as well.
Stay tuned. Number news should be coming soon.
