All-Pro nod in cards for Patriots K Andy Borregales in 2026

What do Adam Vinatieri, Justin Tucker, Matt Prater and Stephen Gostkowski all have in common?

For the better part of the last two decades, all four were viewed as being perhaps the best kicker in the NFL at some point during that stretch of time.

Andy Borregales has the opportunity to follow in those footsteps, especially those of Vinatieri and Gostkowski -- two former Super Bowl champions with the New England Patriots -- the franchise that Borregales now has the chance to help clinch a Super Bowl for, if the opportunity presents itself in the biggest moment.

Borregales came close to winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the end of the 2025 season. The Patriots advanced to the Super Bowl before losing to the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 29-13. Next season will give the 23-year-old another opportunity to not only help the Patriots win the Super Bowl, but also establish himself as an All-Pro kicker in the league.

Borregales converted 27 of his 32 field goal attempts in 2025. Four of his five misses on the year were from 40-49 yards out. He went 7-of-11 from that range last season. Yet, Borregales went a perfect 4-of-4 on field goals from 50 or more yards out. Borregales will be responsible for cleaning up his mistakes from last season in 2026.

With a field goal conversion rate north of 90 percent next season, Borregales projects to be in contention for Second-Team All-Pro honors.
