Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has expressed a strong desire for Michael Carrick to remain as the club's head coach next season, indicating that this sentiment is widely shared among the squad.
Carrick, 44, was installed as interim manager following Ruben Amorimās departure in January and has since impressively guided the team to Champions League qualification with three games still remaining in the campaign.
Dialloās endorsement follows similar backing from other key players, including Kobbie Mainoo, who declared that players "want to die for" Carrick after Unitedās 3-2 victory against arch-rivals Liverpool on Sunday.
Matheus Cunha and the departing Casemiro have also publicly supported Carrick for the permanent role. Amad, who previously labelled Carrick the "right man" a month ago, reiterated his hopes for the coach to stay.
"Honestly, itās not the player who decides who is going to stay here next season, but what I can say (is) everyone is happy to have him as manager," Diallo told Sky Sports. "Everyone is with him. Heās that manager who has a good relationship with every player, so we are really happy to have him as manager and, yeah, we will be happy if we have him next season as manager."

The Ivory Coast international highlighted the profound impact Carrick has had on team cohesion and spirit. Despite not registering a goal or assist since Carrick's appointment, Amad praised the coach's diligence and overall influence, noting the personal support he offers.
"Even when you are in tough moments, heās there to talk to you, heās there to help you," Amad explained.
He further elaborated on the positive shift in team dynamics: "I think the biggest change maybe is because the team is now more impactful. Like in the dressing room, we are really together. Every mistake is not a problem, your mistake is my mistake, so we are a team that doesnāt care if you do a mistake, you go again, so we go forward, we want to win as a team.
āThatās something that changed the team, and I think itās also because of Michael Carrick and his staff ā donāt forget also Trav (coach Travis Binnion) and the other staff. They are really important for the team, and they bring that kind of energy to the team, and that is very important."
Looking ahead, third-placed United are preparing for a trip to Sunderland, a fixture where Amad is expected to receive a positive reception.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a highly successful season-long loan spell at the Stadium of Light during the 2022-23 campaign, where manager Tony Mowbray played a pivotal role in his development.
Amad fondly recalled his time there, stating: "Tony Mowbray was like a dad and manager for me. We had such a good relationship. He was there to help me every time saying, āyou are the player I want in my team, you are going to decide the gamesā.
āI really enjoyed my time in Sunderland. Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about the club. Now Iām one of the big fans because I watch every game when they play, so Iām so happy for what they did this season."
