The Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback situation is becoming a bit of a circus, with the franchise still waiting on Aaron Rodgers' decision about whether he'll retire or return in 2026.
Given that the draft is a couple of days away, the Steelers should roughly know Aaron's intentions, right?
Because if he isn't returning, the Steelers can look to draft a quarterback, which many still have the franchise doing in several mock drafts.
And forĀ CBS Sports' Mike Renner, when asked when and where he thinks Alabama's Ty Simpson will be taken, he's gone for Pittsburgh in the first round.
"I think 21 to the Steelers," Renner wrote. "If they hadn't taken Kenny Picket 20th in 2022 I think Steelers fans would be over the moon about this. Simpson flashed far more ability to create from the pocket than Pickett did in college. That will translate to the league."

That is a good conversation starter, mainly because they do, but they don't.
The Steelers, without Rodgers, have Will Howard and Mason Rudolph. Mason is a known commodity, but Howard hasn't gotten his chance yet, so you could make the case for Howard to be the starter under Mike McCarthy. Hence, no need to draft Simpson.

On the flip side, you could make the case that the Steelers do need a new quarterback in the room, even if Rodgers does return, and Simpson could be better than Howard and maybe Rudolph.
So, there are plenty of things to think about for Pittsburgh and their first-round pick, and while some have them going defense, and even receiver, there are a lot of people who see Simpson as a fit in Pittsburgh.
