The Kansas City Chiefs' draft was defense-heavy, with the top four picks all going on Steve Spagnuolo's side of the ball.

We know the offense, for the most, part, is set. But defensively, given the losses in the secondary and the pass rush needs, those were areas that had to be addressed.

And they were. But here comes the big question for the defense. How quickly can it all come together?

For ESPN's Nate Taylor, how quickly the rookies can make an impact could determine a lot in 2026.

"The Chiefs' top four selections were all defenders," Taylor wrote. "We know cornerback Mansoor Delane will likely start in place of Trent McDuffie. But the trio alongside Delane -- defensive tackle Peter Woods, defensive end R Mason Thomas and safety Jadon Canady -- should have opportunities to be rotational contributors.

"How well they do will likely determine how much of an improvement the Chiefs' defense makes in 2026."
