Join Chelsea or wait for 'dream' Liverpool job? Alonso's big dilemma
Xabi Alonso faces a tough choice between Chelsea and his dream job at Liverpool.
The Los Angeles Rams didnât have many weaknesses or flaws last season, but the ones that truly held them back were glaringly obvious. They lacked talent at cornerback and their special teams unit was arguably the worst in football.
Wisely, they addressed both spots this offseason after more or less ignoring them in 2025. At cornerback, they added Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson from the Chiefs, while also bringing in Joe Cardona as their long snapper and Grant Stuard to help on special teams.
With most of their league-leading offense returning, the Rams are in excellent shape across the board entering 2026. Thatâs exactly why NFL.comâs Eric Edholm ranked the Ramsâ roster as the most complete in the league right now.
One reason Rams fans seemed to take such exception to the drafting of quarterback Ty Simpson in Round 1 was the belief that the team boasted a Super Bowl-caliber roster and could only be a player or two away from another championship. At the very least, Rams fansâ hearts appeared to be in the right place.
Los Angeles was one possession away from reaching the Super Bowl, and no matter what you thought of the Simpson selection (or the rest of the Ramsâ draft class), this appears to be a roster capable of reaching -- and even winning -- the big game this time around.
Edholm is high on the Ramsâ offense, which he calls âthe NFLâs best,â and believes their new-look secondary âcould be one of the teamâs best units.â
The biggest question now might be at inside linebacker, where their current group âdoesnât knock your socks off.â Thatâs a fair assessment with Nate Landman and Omar Speights returning as the top linebackers on the depth chart.
Major changes are unlikely to come before Week 1 but thereâs still a chance the Rams could add reinforcements before the trade deadline in order to bolster an already strong roster. For the time being, they certainly look like the most complete team in football.
