Four-star quarterback Andre Adams has committed to Colorado football, choosing the Buffaloes over Florida State, Kentucky, and Virginia Tech. His decision followed unofficial visits to his top schools, with Colorado standing out as the most genuine option.
While recruiting out of the portal has been Colorado's modus operandi since Deion Sanders arrived in Boulder, the Buffaloes typically land a high school prospect who catches the public eye.
That was the case Tuesday afternoon as Antioch (TN) four-star quarterback Andre Adams announced his commitment to Colorado. He chose the Buffaloes over Florida State, Kentucky and Virginia Tech.
His decision comes after he took unofficial visits to each of the schools in his top four in March and April. He was back at Colorado the weekend before his decision.
"I felt like Colorado was the most genuine school I stepped foot in," Adams said. "I was originally scheduled to commit on the 11th but I had a reason for pushing back. I took the visit to Colorado and knew from there that they were the one."
A four-year starter, Adams has put up video game-like numbers as the main catalyst in rebuilding the Bears' football program.
Entering his senior season, he's played 33 games, throwing for a school record 7,541 yards and 71 touchdowns. He's also rushed for 2,316 yards and 35 touchdowns.
Last season, Adams was a TSSAA Class 6A Mr. Football finalist. He completed 71% of his passes for 3,418 yards and 35 touchdowns with only one interception.
He also led the Bears in rushing with 855 yards and 13 touchdowns.
With his pledge, Colorado now has two commitments in its 2027 class. Miami Killian (FL) three-star defensive back Davon Dericho committed to Colorado on February 12.
"Doing this just means I have to keep going," Adams said. "Everything I do, I've got eyes on me. I got a role to play and people looking up to me so I have to succeed."
