Reese is looking forward, though, according to USA Today. As she opened up about the upcoming season, the LSU alum got emotional speaking about the âsisterhoodâ in Atlanta.

Reese explained that sheâs already felt a difference since joining the Atlanta Dream. âBeing able to come to an organization that really cared about their players, just being able to see a GM that really wanted me and knew what my talents are,â she said.
âBeing able to talk to players that genuinely know what I am and who I am as a person, but also as a player, is like a breath of fresh air,â she added.
The realization that sheâd be playing for a new team in just a few weeks was almost too much for Reese to handle. âIt lowkey makes me emotional because I havenât had this and Iâm really grateful and Iâm really looking forward to the start,â she said.

Reese ended her sophomore season averaging 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds per game. She also tied Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas for most double-doubles (23).
While stellar accomplishments, Reese said she wasnât âsatisfiedâ with that. âI love to win. I love to compete,â she stated.
As part of the Dream, Reese is joining an already stacked roster that finished third in the league in 2025, going 30-14.
âBeing around these kinds of players would help me be better and I can help them in different ways to help them win. And thatâs all I ever wanted. I donât care about anything else,â Reese said.

Reese isnât the only one looking forward to becoming an honorary Georgia peach. All-Star Allisha Gray is also looking at the season with a positive mindset, saying Reeseâs roster spot is âthe piece that we needed to get us over the hump.â
Gray went on to say that in Atlanta, Reese will be able to learn and showcase her range of talents on the hardwood.
âI mean, we all know sheâs one of the best rebounders in the league, but I feel here in Atlanta we are able to show that sheâs more than a rebound, because Angelâs a bucket,â Gray said.

Atlantaâs head coach, Karl Smesko, is also over the moon about his teamâs latest acquisition. During the press conference, the 55-year-old lauded Reeseâs impressive rebounding ability and praised her off-ball movement.
âWe create a lot of space and a lot of movement so thereâs going to be a lot of opportunities to either score off cuts or invert some pick and roll,â he said.
The most important thing for Smesko, however, is to help develop Reese into the player she wants to be.
âI want to hear what she thinks her strengths are and what she really wants to get better at and I want to be a coach that helps players achieve to their highest level and what they wanted to become,â he said, adding that heâll collaborate with Reese to help sharpen her skills.
The Dreamâs first game is against the Chicago Sky on April 29.
