According to The Blast, the Chicago Sky traded Reese to the Atlanta Dream on April 6, 2026.

“This trade is designed to achieve roster balance and represents a great opportunity for all parties,” Chicago’s GM, Jeff Pagliocca, said. “Angel has achieved many record-breaking milestones in her first two years in the WNBA and has been a competitive force for the Sky. We are thankful for her many important contributions to this league and this game, and we know she will continue to have a big impact on the court and beyond.”

Reese’s stunning trade came after the Victoria’s Secret model’s rocky end to her second year with the organization, following her call-out of the team in a summer 2025 interview.

At the time, the Sky had one of the worst records in the league and a roster full of underwhelming, underperforming players. Reese said candidly that while she wanted to stay in Chicago long-term, something would need to shake.

“… if things don’t pan out, obviously I might have to move in a different direction and do what’s best for me,” she said.

Despite the turbulent finish, Reese only had positive things to say about her time with the Sky.

“Chicago will always be part of my story and I’m forever grateful for the fans and the city,” she said.

What Is Reese Most Looking Forward To This WNBA Season?

Regarding her first season in the A, Reese appears to be at peace before her first official game against the Minnesota Lynx.

“I’m not focused on proving anything. I’m focused on winning,” she said. “I’m showing up every day and giving everything I’ve got for my team to help us win.”

And while the love for Chicago may be real, Reese feels the same way about Atlanta. “I’m so excited for this new chapter,” she shared. “The city has its own energy too, Black excellence, culture, fashion, music. I feel at home.”

Reese’s transition to the Dream comes at a crucial time for the Georgia-based team, too, as she’s heading the organization’s new “Homegrown Collection” of merch, featuring loungewear, bags, and jerseys.

“The Dream’s Homegrown collection just feels like Atlanta,” Reese said about the new line. “Atlanta has its own energy, and people here know when something is authentic versus when it’s just trendy. I think that’s what makes it special.”

The Dream’s New Line Of Clothing Was Designed With The Fans In Mind

The “Homegrown Collection” was also created with the Dream’s fans in mind—specifically women.

According to Reese, women’s sports fans have been begging for quality merch for years. “They want products that actually reflect them, their style, their body type, and how they move through the world,” she said.

“I think fans can feel when real thought, design, and intention go into something. And I think this collection proves that women’s sports deserve the same level of creativity, infrastructure, and investment that every major cultural brand gets,” she added.

The new batch of designs was also created with an important message in mind.

“I’d want her to feel like this was made for her,” Reese said. “Confident. Girls here are expressive, creative, unapologetic, and influential. I’d want somebody putting this on to feel connected to that. And honestly, I’d want her to feel proud. Proud of the city, proud of this team, proud of this league and proud of women’s sports overall.”
