The Angels recalled left-hander Sam Aldegheri from Triple-A Salt Lake, optioning southpaw Mitch Farris to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
Farris pitched during the Angelsâ 11-10 loss against the Yankees on Tuesday, posting 1.1 scoreless innings with a strikeouts. He has a 2.08 ERA through 4.1 innings this season, with his only earned run coming against the Cincinnati Reds on April 10.

Aldegheri is making his first trip to MLB in 2026 after dipping his toes in during 2024 and 2025, and will hope to be a little more effective this time around.
He has seven MLB appearances under his belt, posting a combined 6.41 ERA through 26.2 innings pitched. He had a 7.90 ERA through four appearances in 2025 with 12 strikeouts.
The left-hander hasnât been incredibly impressive in Triple-A this season either, as he has a 10.80 ERA through 13.1 innings pitched. The Angels will hope Aldegheri can provide some left-handed relief against the Yankees, who have plenty of capable left-handers on their roster.
Aldegheri will look to get a shot for the Halos in the second game of the series, which comes Tuesday at 4:05 p.m. PT.
